Open Mics
These have been such a great way of building confidence, that I would recommend open mics to anyone wanting to get into performing their own material. I’ve been very fortunate to have the support of Andrew organising a great many of these.Just lately these have been once a week at least, having at least a half-hour slot (and sometimes a whole hour) at the Dandy Lion in Heckmondwike. It’s got a great atmosphere there, and the audience are pretty polite most of the time, and will listen, and not just talk or shout over you (not that playing over a […]
2017… A Look Back
Well… Things didn’t quite go according to plan in 2017. Losing my Mum in May was indeed a big blow. It’s one of those moments in life that really made me stop and take stock of things. But, it really does mean that I can carry my ideas around with me. Now, if I have an idea on guitar, I can also record it and attach it (in […]
Songs and Instrumentals
I decided I’d have a count-up of all my demo recordings, past and present, that have some potential:Songs: 77(and there are some more unrecorded songs in development, potentially another 10-12).Instrumentals: 102.More songs than I thought I had… Fewer instrumentals. Enough to keep me going for a while though, don’t you think?
