About
Craig Westwood is a UK-born singer-songwriter and recording artist creating original pop rock and acoustic music from his studio in rural France.
After early live experiences in the 1980s, the focus shifted from stage to songwriting and recording. Rather than stepping away from music, Craig continued to write, arrange and produce original material over the decades that followed — crafting songs and instrumentals in the margins of everyday life.
By 2016, that private catalogue had grown into a substantial body of work: over 60 songs and more than 100 instrumental pieces, with new material continuing to emerge.
2016 marked a turning point. Craig began working alongside experienced producers and industry professionals to transform years of songwriting into finished, release-ready recordings.
The collaboration reignited the creative process. Earlier songs found their full expression, while new material began to take shape — inspired by the energy of working with like-minded musicians and producers.
In 2019, that renewed creative momentum received significant external recognition when Craig won the Vero Great Guitar Contest with an original instrumental composition.
The award led to a trip to Los Angeles, where the prize was presented at Norman’s Rare Guitars, along with a visit to Taylor Guitars.
The recognition offered more than a prize — it confirmed that the years of quiet writing and development had substance, and that the evolving body of work was resonating beyond the studio.
Shortly afterwards, the global impact of COVID-19 brought that momentum to an abrupt pause, reshaping plans and delaying further releases.
During the uncertainty of the pandemic, Craig and his wife moved from the UK to rural France in 2020. The relocation provided not only a change of landscape, but the opportunity for Craig to build a dedicated studio space.
With fewer distractions and greater creative control, songwriting and production moved to the centre of daily life — shaping the next phase of the work now being released.
